# How to Unhide Tracks in Logic Pro

If tracks seem to have vanished in Logic Pro, start with **Track > Unhide All Tracks**. You can also Control-click a track header and choose **Unhide All Tracks**, or press **Control-Shift-H**, the default key command. Apple’s current [Hide tracks guide](https://support.apple.com/guide/logicpro/hide-tracks-lgcpf27451ae/mac) distinguishes this command from simply showing the hidden-track controls.

Checked September 18, 2026 against Apple’s Logic Pro for Mac User Guide. A track can also disappear from view because a Track Stack is closed, a screenset recalled a different layout, or a group linked the Hide control across several tracks. Those are display states, not evidence that the track or its audio has been deleted.

## Unhide every track at once

1. Open the project’s Tracks area.
2. Choose **Track > Unhide All Tracks**.
3. If the menu is easier to reach, Control-click any track header and choose **Unhide All Tracks**.
4. For the keyboard command, press **Control-Shift-H**.

When the command works, the tracks return to the normal Tracks area, their Hide buttons turn off, and the Toggle Hide View button returns to gray. This is the safest first reset when you do not know which tracks were hidden or whether several were hidden together.

## If H shows controls but does not restore the tracks

Look above the track headers for the **Toggle Hide View** button. An orange button means the project contains hidden tracks and they are currently concealed. Click it, choose **Track > Toggle Hide View**, Control-click a track header and choose the same command, or press **H**.

The button turns green when hidden tracks are visible. Green exposes each track’s individual Hide button. Turn off Hide on the track you want to restore, then click Toggle Hide View again if you want the remaining hidden tracks to stay out of the normal view.

- **Orange:** hidden tracks exist and their headers are concealed.
- **Green:** hidden tracks exist and their headers are visible for editing.
- **Gray:** no track currently has Hide enabled.

The key distinction is that **H changes the view**; **Unhide All Tracks clears the Hide state**. Pressing H can reveal the hidden headers without turning off their Hide buttons, so the tracks disappear again when you leave Hide View.

## Check Track Stacks before changing the project

A closed Track Stack can make several subtracks look missing even when none of them is hidden. Click the disclosure arrow on the stack’s main track. Apple’s [Track Stacks overview](https://support.apple.com/guide/logicpro/track-stacks-overview-lgcp9bc4b63d/mac) explains that closing the stack leaves only its main track visible in the Tracks area.

If the disclosure arrow restores the subtracks, leave their Hide buttons alone. The stack was collapsed; the tracks were never hidden. ## Check whether a screenset changed the layout

Screensets store window arrangements and display settings. Recalling one can make the project look different enough that a track appears to have disappeared, especially if the previous screenset showed another window, track height, zoom level, or part of the track list.

Use the numbered screenset controls to return to the layout you were using, or inspect another saved screenset before resetting preferences. If the track exists in one screenset but not the current arrangement, the project data is still present; the view changed.

## When several tracks disappear together

Tracks can share Hide behavior through a group. In the Groups inspector, the **H** setting can link Hide changes across the group. One click may therefore hide several related tracks at once.

Use **Unhide All Tracks** to restore the complete view. If the same tracks vanish again when you change one member, inspect that group’s settings and decide whether Hide should remain linked. Do not remove the group just to diagnose visibility; first confirm that the group is the trigger.

## What not to do first

Do not delete and recreate tracks, flatten a Track Stack, reinstall Logic Pro, or reset preferences simply because a track is absent from the Tracks area. Those actions can alter routing, regions, plug-ins, or a useful project layout while leaving the original visibility cause unexplained.

Reveal and inspect first. If the track is truly absent from every screenset, stack, and hidden-track view, save the project under a new name before checking project alternatives, backups, or earlier versions. That separates a possible deletion from a reversible display state.

## FAQ

### Why does pressing H not immediately show every hidden track?

H toggles Hide View. It can expose the headers of tracks whose Hide buttons are enabled, but it does not necessarily clear those buttons. Use **Track > Unhide All Tracks** or **Control-Shift-H** when you want every track returned to the normal view.

### Can a closed Track Stack make tracks look hidden?

Yes. Closing a Track Stack removes its subtracks from the visible list while leaving the stack’s main track. Open the disclosure arrow before changing Hide settings.

### Will unhiding tracks change the audio or arrangement?

No. Unhiding changes track visibility. It does not move regions, change routing, or mute the track. A hidden track may continue to play while it is concealed.
