Choose the route before downloading

Use an official Apple route and check the device first. A current installer cannot make Logic Pro 12 run on an Intel Mac, and an old trial file is not a substitute for the current offer.

  1. Buying Logic Pro for Mac.The Mac App Store remains the one-time purchase route.
  2. Using Apple Creator Studio.The subscription includes Logic Pro and is Apple’s current public trial route for eligible new subscribers.
  3. Installing on iPad.Download from the App Store. Apple clearly documents reactivation for previous standalone subscribers, but new standalone signup is not clearly documented for every account.
  4. Checking hardware.Current requirements list macOS 15.6 or later with Apple silicon, or iPadOS 26 or later with an A12 Bionic chip or newer. Some features need newer chips.
  5. Adding the Sound Library.Install the app first, confirm the storage location, then add only the content the projects actually need.

Check Apple’s current Logic Pro download and requirements page before paying or upgrading macOS. Account, country, and previous-purchase history can change which older options appear.

Can I download Logic Pro 12 on an Intel Mac?

No. The current Mac release requires Apple silicon and macOS 15.6 or later. An older compatible Logic version is a separate account-and-macOS question.

Is the Logic Pro trial still 90 days?

No. Apple’s current public offer is the 30-day Apple Creator Studio trial for eligible new subscribers. Old 90-day Logic trial pages do not describe the current route.

Can a new iPad user buy the older standalone plan?

Apple confirms reactivation for previous subscribers but does not clearly document new standalone signup for every account. Check the plans shown in your own App Store account.
