The correct Logic Pro download depends on the device and license route, not on finding a DMG from a search result. Current Logic Pro for Mac comes from the Mac App Store as either a standalone one-time purchase or part of Apple Creator Studio. Logic Pro for iPad is distributed through the App Store and is included with Creator Studio.
Before paying, confirm the operating system, chip and free storage. Current Logic Pro requires Apple silicon on Mac; an Intel Mac cannot install the current release simply because an older Logic Pro X version once ran on that machine.

- Mac: macOS 15.6 or later and a Mac with Apple silicon.
- iPad: iPadOS 26 or later and an A12 Bionic chip or later; some features require newer hardware.
- Storage: the application is only the beginning. The optional Sound Library can require much more space than the minimum install.

Trial and iPad subscription caveat
Apple now promotes the Apple Creator Studio 30-day trial as the current trial route. Do not rely on old “Logic Pro 90-day trial” download pages or unofficial installers; they may describe a retired offer or distribute an unsafe file.
For iPad, Apple clearly confirms that a previous standalone Logic Pro for iPad subscriber can reactivate that expired subscription after Creator Studio ends. Apple’s support document does not give an equally clear promise that every brand-new subscriber can start the older standalone plan. Logic Pro X, older Macs and Windows
“Logic Pro X” is the former product name, not a separate current download. Apple dropped the X from the name in 2020. Older purchases may let an account download a compatible historical version on an older Mac, but availability depends on the account and macOS; it is not a route to install Logic Pro 12 on Intel.
